We're delighted to announce our beautifully crafted Cabin is now available to rent at River Cottage HQ from September 2023 onwards.
Our Planted Cabin offer guests a unique nature-based experience at River Cottage in a stylishly designed space equipped with a kitchen unit, outdoor shower and toilet facility.
Located in the heart of the Devon countryside, River Cottage, founded by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in 1999, champions both organic and local food from their spectacular 100-acre farm near Axminster.
The stylishly designed space is furnished with nature in mind at every turn. Beautifully crafted pieces including an armchair, two dining chairs and side tables by award-winning British brand Another Country, Naturalmat's 100% organic natural mattress and an elegant mirror by Marque Sussex. Shelving and other sustainable accessories are provided courtesy of our friends at The Snow Sheppard.
For added comfort, Gather have provided a 100% woolen blanket made from the finest natural pure wool while hot water bottles fashioned from off-cuts of linen are provided by Delaney Design.
Decorative lighting by Joseph Giles and Thermafleece natural hemp insulation are used in the cabin, whilst Tala's brand-new low energy portable lamps offer an outdoor lighting solution for guests. A woodburning stove inside the cabin will further ensure you stay warm if the nights turn chilly.
All the materials used in the cabin design by Out of the Valley are sustainably sourced and designed to minimise impact on the environment and for a fully off-grid living experience, Planted's mobile cabin is complemented with a waterless, compostable toilet unit provided by Waterlesstoilets.
A cold outdoor shower facility is provided, designed by Planted and built by Fern Carpentry, with beautiful corrugated hemp side panels by Erthly, enabling you to experience the scientifically proven health benefits of cold-water immersion, highlighted on hit BBC1 show Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof.
There is also a beautifully crafted two-seater bench courtesy of garden furniture brand Gaze Burvill to enjoy the glorious views from the Cabin at any time of day.
