Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill is dedicated to creating a future of innovative, sustainable designs that build on the heritage of British craftsmanship.
Specialising in Windsor Chairs, Sitting Firm has honed a collection of contemporary yet timeless designs for interiors, which embody the expert wood-working skills of a dedicated team of craftspeople.
Based entirely in the Hampshire workshop, they oversee every part of the process, from managing seasoned wood boards, the complex shaping of the chair’s solid wood seat base, wood turning and steam-bending, to hand finishing every piece.
These comfortable, strong, long-lasting chairs and accompanying tables have a timeless appeal, to suit either a modern or a more traditional space.
Sitting Firm has committed to using only native British hardwoods sourced from sustainably managed woodlands. Much of the timber used now comes from within a mile of their Hampshire workshop where all the furniture is produced.
