Matthew and Celia Burt started their company in 1978 from a garden shed. From the outset, their mission was to be an ecologically-sustainable brand, creating quality furniture with a focus on providing training and employment in the Wylye Valley. For the last four decades, they have been designing and making pieces of enduring quality, built to last for generations learning from the traditions and history of English furniture making.

The company occupies a purpose-built workshop and studio in Hindon with a showroom nearby. They remain firmly rooted in their original ethos, designing and making 21st century English furniture, in Wiltshire from predominantly British wood. By constantly challenging their abilities and creativity, they consolidate their position as world-class furniture makers, firmly embedded in their community and environment.
