Designed for well-being with natural materials, colours, textures and nature-inspired ergonomic shapes, Benchmark seek to create furniture that makes a positive contribution to both human health and the environment.
Benchmark’s investment in Environmental Product Declarations provides independently verified evidence of the low environmental impact of their furniture. Their Red List Free Declare Labelling provides complete transparency, showing where the furniture is made, what it is made from and where it goes at the end of its life. Red List Free means that it contains no harmful toxic chemicals making their furniture suitable for healthy spaces including WELL certified buildings.
Benchmark are continually challenging the way they operate. Recent innovations include the development of furniture upholstered with coir, latex and sheep’s wool. Developed in collaboration with the Naturalmat Company, these natural, sustainable and biodegradable materials are better for health as well as overcoming the significant environmental concerns surrounding the disposal of plastic foam in landfill. Their recently launched Take Back Scheme enables customers to return furniture when it is no longer needed which is then refurbished, repurposed or donated to charitable enterprises.
Planted will be the physical launch of the OVO chairs.

Ovo Collection
The new Ovo collection is “a celebration of craftsmanship and materiality.”
Each piece has been crafted using either solid European oak or American Walnut, and the fillings of the upholstered seat use organic sheep’s wool; which is naturally breathable, has anti-microbial properties, and meets British fire standards without the application of toxic fire-retardant chemicals.
Designed and made with a focus on sustainability and wellbeing, the OVO chairs marry ergonomics with a clarity of form, warmth and tactility.
With a refined and pared back aesthetic, the armchair has a soft, pillowed finish to the tops of the armrests and softened edges that widen to form the backrest.
The lounge chair has a deeper, more spacious seat with armrests that have been widened to form a support for a cup or a laptop.
