In conversation with Naturalmat

“We’ve never liked plastics for the simple reason they do not do what you need or want them to do when you’re lying down on a mattress.”

More than two decades ago keen sailors Mark Tremlett and Peter Tindall began experimenting with breathable, natural fibres as an alternative to notoriously uncomfortable synthetics commonly used on boats.

In 2000 Naturalmat was born, with the promise to use only natural, sustainable and, wherever possible, certified organic raw materials. This year they celebrate their 20th anniversary.

For the latest edition of Planted Unearthed, our co-founder Sam Peters spoke to Naturalmat’s Mark Tremlett about his passion for organic materials and the importance of a good night’s sleep for wellness and wellbeing.
