A Life on Our Planet, David Attenborough

At Planted we have been profoundly moved and influenced by watching all of Sir David Attenborough’s wildlife documentaries over the years and none more so than his most recent seminal works highlighting the mass destruction of biodiversity across the planet and his latest witness statement; “A Life On our Planet." A powerful first-hand account of humanity's impact on nature and a message of hope for future generations.

One quote in particular stopped us in our tracks and we feel it is worthy of repeating here.

Sir David said: “We are facing nothing less than the collapse of the living world. The very thing which gave birth to our civilisation. The thing we rely upon for every element of the lives we lead. No-one wanted this to happen. So what do we do? It’s quite straightforward. It’s been staring us in the face all along. To restore stability to our planet we must restore biodiversity. The very thing we’ve removed. It’s the only way out of this crisis we’ve created. We must rewild the world.”
