“We can all make a difference in our effort to give back to nature and restore what has been lost. From rewilding our back gardens to buying up 3m by 3m plots to return to nature, everyone can help turn the tide back in nature’s favour.”

Did you know the UK is among the nature-deprived countries on the planet? Successive UK Governments have overseen a shocking decline in nature’s fortunes over the past four decades as 56% of species have declined since 1970 and we are now ranked a lowly 189th out of 218 countries surveyed when it comes to biodiversity.

But amid the gloom there is hope and Heal Rewilding have embarked on an epic mission to save our wildlife and natural spaces by buying land across England in order to return to nature. In the latest edition of Planted Unearthed Jan Stannard, one of Heal Rewilding’s founders, spoke to Sam Peters to explain the ambitious plan.
