Am I eligible to apply for the student competition?
The competition is open only to students of accredited UK colleges or universities during the 2024-2025 academic year and who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry
May I submit a group project that I helped to complete?
Group work is eligible for entry. Group sizes can’t exceed more than 3 people including the submitter. When submitting your group’s work, list all contributors on the application as co authors. All group members must be eligible under the terms. Prizes awarded to groups will be divided evenly among the members.
When is the deadline to submit my work?
Submissions are due 31 July 2025.
Is a particular format required for entries?
You should submit a finished design from your academic or personal portfolio. We will accept up to six (6) files under 40 MB. Acceptable formats are as follows:
.jpg, .png, .pdf, .mov and/or .mp4
If you need to submit multiple .jpgs or .pngs, they may be compiled in one .pdf file or sent via a dropbox link. No hard copies will be accepted.
Does my design have to be created in Vectorworks?
Projects must be created in Vectorworks software
What content is required in my design?
A complete set of drawings with artfully arranged renderings to showcase a complete presentation of the idea is recommended.
May my entry include hand-drawn elements?
Your submission may include hand drawings, but computer drawings or models are preferred. You may request a free educational version of Vectorworks Design Suite software for Mac or Windows.
How will the shortlisted designers and winners be notified?
Designers shortlisted will be notified by email at the end of September to attend the ‘Vectorworks Design Day’s conference on 14 October 2025 to present their ideas/work to a live audience. The winner will be announced on the day.
