In conversation with Vestre

“There are many reasons why Scandinavian culture lends itself to more sustainable methods of production. From the accessibility of green energy to the complete unwillingness to compromise on quality, durability or sustainability because they do go hand in hand.”

Vestre is one of the world’s most progressive furniture manufacturers and a standard bearer for sustainable production and efficacy of design.

The Norwegian outdoor furniture manufacturer, who recently partnered with Planted as we launched our physical event offering as part of London Design Festival, has embarked on an ambitious new project which they say will see them deliver the most sustainable factory anywhere on the planet.

In a wide-ranging interview Planted Unearthed co-founder Sam Peters spoke to Vestre’s commercial director Romy Rawlings about everything from Scandinavian culture to sustainable wastebins and hostile architecture.
